Bagabaga College of Education is a teacher education college in Tamale.

The college was set up in January 1944 with 17 male students to train professional teachers to teach in basic schools.
It is affiliated with the University of Education, Winneba.
BATCO has offered the following Programmes over the years:
- 1944- 2—year Certificate “B” teacher training course; shortly started the 2 year Certificate ‘A’ post “B” course.
- 1961 one-year Rural Agricultural Science course and later upgraded to a two-year Agriculture Science specialist course.
- 1967 2-year post secondary teacher training college course.
- 1972/73 started 3-year post secondary teacher training course
- 1972/73, a two-year specialist course in General Science and Mathematics was started in addition to the already existing Agricultural Science course.
- 1983/84 mounted a post-middle modular programme 1987/88 Certificate ‘A’ post-modular teacher programme was introduced (it was short-lived)
- 2004/2005 Diploma in Basic Education programme (Regular & Distance) and Certificate ‘A’ 4-year (Distance) course

Currently, it is one of the 46 public colleges of education in Ghana.
Bagabaga College of Education has received an Institutional accreditation from Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to run the following programmes;
- 4-year Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood programme (regular).
- 4-year Bachelor of Education in Primary Education programme (regular).
- 4-year Bachelor of Education in Junior High School Programme (regular).

BATCO’s mission is to train academically sound, competent and disciplined professional teachers to teach in Ghanaian basic schools.
The college also has the vision to become the best Teacher Education institution in the Northern sector, and one of the best in the West African sub-region.
However, D7 is not an acceptable grade for getting admission into Bagabaga College of Education.
Your only guarantee for admission is to PASS in your WASSCE with a good grade (A1-C6)
Admission Requirements
The general requirement for admission to the 4-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme is as follows:
WASSCE Holders:
CREDIT PASSES (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of
SSSCE Holders:
CREDIT PASSES (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising Three(3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

1. Purchase an E-Voucher
- Buy your COE Admission E-voucher from any Consolidated Bank Ghana branch or via Mobile Money (MTN, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo).
- The voucher contains a Serial Number and PIN needed to access the portal.
2. Access the Online Portal
- Visit the Colleges of Education Admission Portal.
- Enter your Serial Number and PIN, then click Login.
3. Complete the Application Form
- Fill in all required personal and academic details.
- Upload a passport-sized photo (JPG/JPEG format, max 40KB).
- Use the Preview button to:
- Edit your application
- Save and continue later
- Submit and print confirmation
4. Print and Post Required Documents
- Print two copies of your confirmation page.
- Attach:
- Your results slips
- Any other relevant documents
- One passport photo
- Send them via EMS envelope from Ghana Post to the Principal of the College.
- Quote your Application Reference/Form Number on the envelope.
