The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has officially announced the payment schedule for the long-awaited teacher trainee allowance arrears, bringing much-needed clarity and relief to thousands of trainees across the country.
In a message posted on its verified social media handles, TTAG confirmed that the government will disburse five months’ worth of trainee allowances today, August 1, 2025.
This payment covers the arrears owed for the recent semesters and marks a key milestone in resolving the lingering concerns surrounding the delayed payments.
According to TTAG’s statement:
“Dear Trainees, Joy is coming. Good news: the five-month allowance will be paid today. Happy new month. Thank you.”
This highly anticipated update has sparked optimism and some sense of celebration among trainee teachers, many of whom have had to endure months of financial strain while awaiting their allowances.
The total amount to be disbursed stands at GH¢980, calculated at GH¢196 per month for the five-month period.
The association’s message was clear, simple and uplifting, signalling renewed commitment to trainees’ welfare.
TTAG has consistently served as a bridge between teacher trainees and the Students Loan Trust Fund, advocating for timely and transparent disbursement of allowances.
It is hoped that payment will be made promptly to strengthen trainees’ trust in their national leadership.

Many trainees are closely monitoring developments and awaiting confirmation to validate the transaction.
