Tumu College of Education appoints Professor Peter Agbedemnab as New Substantive Principal

Tumu College of Education has officially appointed a substantive principal, marking a new chapter in its academic leadership.

Professor Peter Agbedemnab assumed office on September 1, 2025, taking over from Mr. Bukari Babia Abdulai, who had served diligently in an acting capacity for the past eight months.

Professor Agbedemnab, believed to be in his late forties, joins the college from the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) in Navrongo, Ghana.

His appointment is expected to usher in a period of renewed focus on academic excellence, teacher training, and institutional growth.

A brief but significant ceremony was held at the college principal’s office to mark the transition.

The event was attended by key members of the college’s administration, including the outgoing acting principal, Mr. Bukari Babia Abdulai; the college administrator, Mr. Salifu Majeed; the senior auditing assistant, Mr. Wahab Babugu; and the college finance director, Mr. Eric.

The gathering symbolized not only a change in leadership but also the college’s commitment to smooth administrative processes and continuity.

A Brief History of Tumu College of Education

Founded in 1984, Tumu College of Education is one of Ghana’s prominent teacher training institutions, dedicated to preparing professional educators for basic schools across the country.
