Coleman Publications has received unfortunate news of a fatal accident involving Mr. Selanwiah Demah Abdul-Mumin, the principal of Tumu College of Education.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on the afternoon of 23rd December 2024, along the Tumu-Bolga road between Bassisan and the Sissili bridge.
According to sources, Mr. Abdul-Mumin was returning to Tumu from Bolga when his vehicle, with the registration number GV-27-16, collided with a tipper truck with registration number GT-485-24.
Sadly, the impact of the collision, according to reports, resulted in the loss of his life.
“Emergency services rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, Mr. Abdul-Mumin was declared deceased on the spot.”

Brief Profile
Prof. Selanwiah Demah Abdul-Mumin was a gentle, affable, well-focused, confident, and dynamic computer scientist.
He was capable of assuming additional responsibilities and working without supervision.
A strong team player, he was self-motivated and had a great desire for success, interpersonal skills, and public spirit.
Prof. Abdul-Mumin was an Associate Professor of Computer Science.
He earned his BSc. in Computer Science from the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, Ghana.
He then proceeded to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana for his Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering.
He further pursued his PhD in Computer Science at Kwara State University in Nigeria.
He conducted and supervised several research works in various areas, including Wireless Network Security, Network Intrusion Systems, Cryptography, Data Communication and Computer Networks, Network Protocols, Residue Number Systems and its Applications, Database Applications, Satellite Communications, and Wireless Sensor Networks.
During his time at Kwara State University, he co-supervised numerous students at the MSc. level.
He successfully supervised and graduated more than twenty postgraduate candidates.
At the time of his passing, he was supervising seven MPhil. students and two PhD candidates.
Prof. Abdul-Mumin had over thirty publications in peer-reviewed journals indexed by high-ranking journals.
