Urgent Submission of Names of JHS1 to JHS3 Students for the 2022/2023 Academic Year to the GES Headquarters

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is a government agency responsible for the administration and management of education in Ghana.

In a bid to improve education in the country, the GES has requested the submission of the names of all students in Junior High School (JHS) 1 to JHS3 for the 2022/2023 academic year. The purpose of this exercise is to update the database of students in the GES system, as well as plan for the effective distribution of resources in the education sector.

In accordance with the directive from the GES, Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education are expected to collect the names of all JHS1 to JHS3 students in both public and private schools. This information is to be obtained from the 2022 EMIS census data and submitted to the Director-General via email. The submission deadline for this exercise is 7th April, 2023.

It is important to note that heads of basic schools are to comply with this directive by submitting the names of their students to their respective Metro/Municipal/District Education Directorates. This is to ensure that the data is accurately captured and submitted within the stipulated time frame.

Regional Directors of Education have also been requested to communicate this information to Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education. This is to inform all Heads of Basic Schools and ensure that the data is submitted in a timely and accurate manner.

All stakeholders involved in this exercise are urged to take the exercise seriously and ensure that the information is submitted on time
