The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of provisional results for candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates.
According to the Council, the results have been uploaded to its official website, www.waecgh.org, and candidates can now access their performance online.
WAEC disclosed that a total of 1,661 candidates registered for the examination, which was conducted at 15 centres nationwide.
The figure comprised 858 males and 803 females. Out of the total registered, 33 candidates were absent from the exercise.
The Council further revealed that the results of three candidates have been withheld pending further investigations into cases of examination irregularities.
Candidates affected by withheld or cancelled results have been advised to visit https://itres.waecgh.org and use the “withheld/cancelled” option on the homepage to view details of the investigations and next steps.

Candidates can check their BECE results by dialing *790*024# to buy the checker, then follow these steps to check:
- Visit the WAEC results portal at https://eresults.waecgh.org
- Enter your Index Number.
- Select “BECE (Private)” as the examination type.
- Enter your year of examination (2025).
- Enter the Serial Number and PIN on your WAEC results checker voucher.
- Confirm your details and click “Submit” to view your results.
WAEC has cautioned the public, especially candidates, to beware of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee, stressing that its results are secured and verifiable.
In a statement, the Council expressed appreciation to all stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, security agencies, heads of schools, supervisors, invigilators, examiners, and others who contributed to the smooth conduct of the 2025 BECE for Private Candidates.
