The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a brief Easter break for Form Two students attending Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools operating under the transitional track system.
This break aims to allow students the opportunity to celebrate the Easter festivities with their families.
According to a letter issued by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of Schools and Instructions Division, on behalf of the Ag. Director-General, the Easter break will commence on Thursday, April 17th, and conclude on Monday, April 21st, 2025.
The GES emphasized that participation in the break is optional. Heads of Schools are instructed to grant permission to students who wish to travel home and celebrate Easter.
However, students who choose to remain on campus during the break must receive appropriate supervision to ensure their safety and well-being.
“Heads of Schools are to permit students who wish to travel home and celebrate the Easter festivities with their families the opportunity to do so. However, this break is optional, and students who choose to remain on campus should be appropriately supervised,” the statement read.
The directive mandates all students who opt to travel home to return to school promptly on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025, to resume their academic activities.
Regional Directors of Education have been tasked with disseminating this information to all affected Heads of Schools within their respective regions, ensuring comprehensive awareness and adherence to the announced schedule.
The GES believes this short break will allow students to recharge and return to their studies with renewed focus following the Easter celebrations.
