The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially discredited a widely circulated letter purporting to announce the recruitment of 50,000 teaching and non-teaching staff into the service.
The letter, dated 19th August 2025 and bearing reference number GES/HQ/HR/25/014, claims that GES has received financial clearance to open its recruitment portal for fresh applicants.
It further outlines a list of documents required for validation after appointment, including national ID, educational certificates, and bank details.
However, GES has firmly stated that the letter is fraudulent and did not originate from its headquarters.
In a public advisory, the Service urged the general public, especially prospective applicants, to disregard the contents of the document and refrain from engaging with any recruitment process not officially announced through GES’s verified communication channels.
“GES has not issued any such clearance or recruitment directive. The public is advised to treat the letter as fake and exercise caution,” the statement read.
The Service emphasised that any legitimate recruitment announcement would be published on its official website and other recognised media outlets.
Individuals who may have received or shared the letter are encouraged to verify such information before taking any action.
GES further warned that engaging with unofficial portals or submitting personal documents to unverified sources could expose applicants to identity theft and financial fraud.
