The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced plans to extend the deadline for the 2025 Teacher Promotion Application following technical challenges on its online portal that disrupted the process for many applicants.

In a statement, Daniel Fenyi, the PRO for the Service, reassured teachers that the extension is intended to guarantee a fair and stress-free application process.
He explained that the adjustment will ensure that all eligible teachers — particularly those who have served at least four years on their current rank — are able to submit their applications without disadvantage.
“The Service is committed to creating a smooth, credible, and transparent process. Our priority is to ensure that no qualified teacher is left out due to technical difficulties,” the statement read.
GES further urged teachers to remain calm while its technical team works to stabilize and improve the system.
The Service confirmed that applicants will be formally notified once the portal is fully restored, after which the new deadline will take effect.
This intervention, GES stressed, reflects its commitment to supporting teachers and maintaining confidence in the promotion process, which plays a key role in career progression and motivation within the education sector.
