The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr. Daniel Fenyi, has weighed in on the upcoming picketing planned by the 2023 cohort of public college of education graduates.
The graduates are scheduled to gather outside the GES headquarters on July 30, 2025, to demand clarity on their recruitment timelines.
Responding to concerns raised on social media about delays in postings, Mr. Fenyi advised against protest as a primary means of engagement.
“I hear you people will be picketing, meanwhile, your issue is not even controversial,” he wrote in response to a query on his post regarding the recruitment status.
“Every year, college graduates are posted, and this year won’t be any different. The only concern here is WHEN?”
Mr. Fenyi urged the graduates to consider more formal channels before resorting to public demonstrations:
“If you want to enquire about what time your posting will start, must you picket to ask this information? Just walk to GES or MoE, sit with the leaders, and ask them directly, or send a petition.”

He emphasised that protests should follow only after diplomatic avenues have been exhausted.
“It is when these attempts fail, then protests, picketing, demonstrations, etc. kick in. Picketing and demonstrations are never a first approach to anything, especially when you only need information.”
In a light-hearted jab, he added, “Anaaa vawulence has become part of the college curriculum, lol.”
The PRO further reiterated that what most graduates are seeking is simply clarity on the posting date:
“It doesn’t take picketing or demonstration to obtain this information. Just walk in to the MoE or GES and find out k3k3 erh. Let’s not complicate what is not complicated.”
