All recruitment, payments have received statutory approval – Government Transition Team

Fatimatu Abubakar, the spokesperson for the government transition team, reiterated the government's commitment to a seamless transition of power to the incoming administration on January 7, 2025.

The Government Transition Team has assured the public that all recruitment and payments under the government have received statutory approval and are in line with the law.

The team made this announcement during its second meeting held at the Accra International Conference Centre on December 13, 2024.

The transition committee emphasized that any claims of misconduct regarding specific payments or recruiting should be reported to them for further investigation and resolution.

The team clarified that the government’s term officially ended on January 6, 2025, and that all procedures for hiring and payments had been vetted by the appropriate regulatory bodies.

Fatimatu Abubakar, the spokesperson for the government transition team, reiterated the government’s commitment to a seamless transition of power to the incoming administration on January 7, 2025.

Abubakar urged the public to disregard any false statements suggesting that the transition committee had assumed responsibility for ongoing payments and recruitment.

“Kindly disregard any statements purporting to indicate that the Committee has taken a decision to the effect that all ongoing payments and recruitment should be referred to the transition team as same does not reflect the records of the meeting,” the statement read.

The meeting also resulted in several resolutions aimed at ensuring a seamless transition;
