Declaration of Monday as a Public Holiday

The President of the Republic of Ghana, in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), has declared Monday, 5th August, 2024 as an additional Public Holiday.

In a release dated July 31, signed by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Henry Quartey (MP), the Ministry explained to the general public that Sunday, 4th August, 2024, marks Founders’ Day, a Statutory Public Holiday.

However, since this date falls on a Sunday, the President has declared the following day, Monday, 5th August, 2024, as an additional Public Holiday that should be observed throughout the entire country.

This declaration ensures that citizens have a day off to commemorate the significance and honor the Founders’ Day holiday.

It is important for everyone to take note and plan their activities accordingly.
