If you’re one of the many teacher trainees still waiting for your allowance, you’re not alone.
Over the past few weeks, our front desk has been flooded with inquiries from concerned trainees asking why they haven’t received their stipends—especially after the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) announced that payments had begun.

ToggleHere’s the current situation:
- The SLTF’s new administration is conducting a thorough audit of student data handed over by the previous leadership.
- As a result, payments are being processed in batches to ensure accuracy and transparency.
What’s been done so far:
- Last month, the first pre-audit phase was completed, and 30,000 teacher trainees received their allowances.
- This week, the second batch was successfully processed, with 10,000 trainees receiving five months’ worth of stipends for the 2024/2025 academic year.
What’s next:
- According to reliable sources, approximately 26,000 teacher trainees are still awaiting payment.
- These trainees will be paid once the SLTF completes the final verification of their records.
Message to trainees:
We understand the anxiety and frustration, but we urge all affected trainees to remain calm and patient.
The SLTF is working diligently to ensure that every eligible trainee receives their due allowance.
It should also be noted that the leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) is in close contact with the SLTF, actively working to ensure that every trainee receives what is due them.
Their involvement is helping to speed up the process.
