The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has announced that the government is in the process of procuring a new platform to handle National Service postings for the 2025/2026 service year.

Speaking in an interview with 3News on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the Minister revealed that the existing posting platform had been abandoned following the discovery of irregularities, prompting a temporary suspension of this year’s postings.

“We have not done much with respect to postings this year because just when the app was opened, His Excellency instructed that we suspend it and conduct further investigations,” Mr. Opare Addo explained.

“As I speak, the App is still closed. We are in the process of procuring a new platform for postings. We are yet to do anything significant in that respect.”

The Minister assured prospective service personnel that the delays will not affect their national service obligations.

“I urge the students to be a little more patient. We want to assure them that their service is not going to be disrupted. The Board and Management are working to ensure that the new App is deployed. If it must be done, it must be done well. They will do their service this year,” he emphasised.

Postings Expected by November 1

Meanwhile, the Acting Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Ruth Dela Seddoh, confirmed in an interview with JoyNews that postings will be released by November 1, 2025.

“The transition team has been put in place and the framework for the new system has been set up,” she noted.

“I can assure all prospective personnel to calm down, as by November 1, postings will be done.”

The assurance comes as relief to over 150,000 prospective service recruits who were left anxious after the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, in June, directed the suspension of the NSA’s Central Management System (CMS) due to concerns over its integrity.

On June 18, President John Mahama ordered an indefinite suspension of the CMS — the system responsible for National Service postings — to allow for a thorough technical and forensic audit.

Following the audit, the NSA underwent administrative changes, including the reassignment of former Acting Executive Director, Felix Gyamfi, to the Ministry of Finance.

Transition in Progress

The decision to overhaul the posting system signals the government’s commitment to ensuring that the national service process is transparent, credible, and secure.

Officials say the transition to a new platform is being done carefully to prevent future irregularities and protect the integrity of the National Service Scheme.

For now, all attention is on the timely deployment of the new platform to enable the postings to go live as promised in November, ensuring that the 2025/2026 national service year can proceed without further disruptions.
