The National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced a firm deadline for all accredited Teacher Education Institutions to upload data on their Level 400 students in preparation for the 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

Institutions are required to complete the submission by Monday, August 25, 2025, using the official NTC portal.

This directive forms part of the broader reforms under the Resetting Ghana Agenda, which integrates the GTLE into final-year assessments for teacher trainees.

The Council has made it clear that failure to meet the deadline will result in affected students being excluded from the licensure process—a key requirement for certification and subsequent posting.

Institutions are expected to submit only the records of students who have met all academic and graduation requirements.

The data must be complete, verified, and uploaded in accordance with the updated guidelines circulated to all colleges and universities.

The NTC has emphasised that no extensions will be granted, citing the need for timely processing and logistical planning ahead of the examination.

For Level 400 students, the deadline carries significant weight. Without successful data upload, they will be ineligible to sit for the GTLE, which now serves as a gateway to professional teaching.

In its communication, the NTC advised institutions to consult the technical support teams deployed to assist with the upload process and to ensure that all submissions are completed without error.

The Council reiterated that the deadline is non-negotiable and forms part of its commitment to streamlining teacher qualification and improving accountability within the education sector.
