Below are key details regarding the application process:
- Application Fee: Prospective students are required to pay GHS 150 to complete their registration.
- Online Portal Access: Candidates must visit the new official Health Training Institution (HTI) application portal to purchase their forms, submit, and track their admission status in real-time.
- Secure Payment Options: The platform provides a secure payment method to facilitate a smooth transaction process.
- Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the specified academic and professional qualifications as outlined on the portal.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission into nursing and health training institutions, applicants must meet specific criteria based on the program they intend to pursue.
Post-Basic Nursing Programs (Specialised Fields)
This is a strict two-year top-up program for diploma holders in general nursing.
The available specialised fields include:
- Critical Care Nursing
- Ophthalmic Nursing
- ENT Nursing
- Public Health Nursing
- Peri-Operative Nursing
Basic Nursing Programs (Diploma Level)
Applicants can apply for diploma programs in the following nursing disciplines:
- Registered General Nursing (RGN)
- Registered Midwifery (RM)
- Public Health Nursing (PHN)
- Registered Mental Nursing (RMN)
- Registered Community Psychiatry Nursing (RCPN)
Entry Requirements for Ghanaian Nationals
Minimum Academic Qualification: Applicants must have an aggregate score of thirty-six (36) or better, comprising grades A1 – C6 in three (3) core subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Integrated Science / Additional Mathematics / Biology
Additionally, candidates must have grades A1 – C6 in three (3) elective subjects relevant to the selected program.
Important Notes
- Applicants must be between 16 and 35 years old.
- Certificates and transcripts should be interpreted by Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
- Those applying for Post-Basic Programs must undergo professional verification.
Application Deadline
The deadline for applications to any of nursing and health training institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year is June 19, 2025.
Applicants are encouraged to complete their registration before this date to ensure their eligibility for admission.
