The MTN Ghana Foundation has announced the launch of the 2025 MTN Bright Scholarship, a prestigious initiative designed to support academically gifted, yet financially challenged, students and educators pursuing tertiary education.

This programme reaffirms MTN’s commitment to fostering educational development and empowering the next generation of Ghanaian leaders.

The MTN Bright Scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burdens associated with higher education, enabling deserving students to focus on their academic pursuits without the constant worry of funding.

The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support to cover tuition fees, accommodation costs, and other essential educational expenses for students enrolled in recognized public tertiary institutions and vocational/technical courses across Ghana.

The scholarship is not only for the students as teachers are also included.

Scholarship Package

The 2025 MTN Bright Scholarship package offers a robust support system to ensure the academic success and holistic development of its recipients.

Selected scholars will receive:

• Full Tuition and Accommodation Coverage: The scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition fees and on-campus accommodation, providing a stable foundation for academic pursuits.

• Laptop Computer: Each scholar will be provided with a brand-new laptop computer to facilitate research, coursework, and digital literacy skills.

• Stipend for Reading Materials: A monthly stipend will be provided to support the purchase of textbooks, research materials, and other essential learning resources.

Eligibility

To be considered for the MTN Bright Scholarship, applicants must meet the following stringent criteria, demonstrating both academic prowess and a commitment to personal and societal betterment:

• Academic Enrollment: Applicants must be currently pursuing a degree at a recognized public tertiary institution in Ghana or be enrolled in a vocational/technical course.

• STEM Focus for Teachers: Alternatively, professional teachers pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are also eligible to apply.

• Ghanaian Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of Ghana.

The application process for teachers includes additional requirements to showcase their dedication to STEM education:

• Online Application: Teachers are required to apply online through the official MTN Ghana Foundation web portal: https://scholarship.mtn.com.gh/  and select the “Bright Scholarship” option.

• Comprehensive Letter of Motivation: In addition to outlining educational and professional goals, teachers must submit a detailed one-page letter explaining why they should be awarded the scholarship. This letter should highlight any past projects or achievements in the ICT/STEM area and articulate the anticipated outcomes and impact of their training on their students and communities.

• Supporting Documentation: A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a letter of recommendation from the school where the applicant is currently teaching are required to substantiate their experience and qualifications.

• Valid Contact Information: Teachers must include accurate and valid contact details, such as their phone number and email address, to ensure seamless communication.

Guidelines for Applicants

To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, the MTN Ghana Foundation has established the following guidelines for all applicants:

• Exclusivity: Applicants who are currently receiving financial assistance from another educational scholarship program are ineligible to apply for the MTN Bright Scholarship.

• Due Diligence: All applications will be subject to thorough due diligence to verify the accuracy of the information provided. Any misrepresentation or act of dishonesty will result in immediate disqualification, and any scholarship awarded will be withdrawn.

• Preference for Strategic Fields: While all eligible applications will be considered, preference will be given to applicants pursuing courses in ICT, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics, reflecting MTN’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s digital transformation.

Selection Process and Notification
