The Colleges of Education Sports Association, COESA has held a briefing for officials, team managers, and other stakeholders ahead of the COESA games which will officially commence on the 21st through to the 26th of November, 2022.
The Meeting was held on Sunday, 20th November 2022 at the Independence Hall, KNUST.
The Secretary-General for COESA, Mr. Samuel Addae Kyenkyehene in his concession articulated the purpose of the briefing is to officially welcome all the delegations and to further elaborate and discuss matters salient to the event ahead.
He added that the meeting is also a space to examine if all the officials and invitees are present before the commencement of the game tomorrow, Monday, 21st November 2022.
Mr. Bismark Tsorhe, The National COESA Technical Chairman majestically took the delegations through the entire programmes outlined for the 11th Biennial Sports Festival.
“All the games and athletics would be held on campus”, Mr. Tsorhe stated.
He implored the coordinators from the various zones to ensure their athletes and officials are present to ensure the smooth flow of activities.
Mr. Bismark Tsorhe prodded the team managers to ensure their athletes wear their accreditation cards for easy identification. Elucidating is the only means to identify the athletes and other participants.
“Let us, including our ‘students’ put on our accreditations card as that, is the only means of identification.” At a point where officials are not precise on an athlete, student ID shall be inspected”. Let’s note sanctions would be meted out to anyone who enlists players who are not students”, he expressed.
Furthermore, Mr. Tsorhe appealed to the officials and the team managers to report any challenges they will encounter to the COESA secretariat for the essential actions to be taken.
The Chairman for the host Zone- ASHBA, Mr. Peter Ofori Atakora called on all the participants and stakeholders to control their emotions during the occasion. Stating that, they should not resort to a fight.
” Disagreement doesn’t mean we should fight. Let’s learn to handle our emotions during the games. When there are grievances, let’s channel them to the appropriate authorities for prompt actions”, he posited.
Mr. Timothy Mensah, The Director of Sports at KNUST assured the delegations their campus is noncontroversial for their games. Adding that, they are in to support and ensure the necessary and needed items are made available and accessible for the success of the COESA 2022 Sports Festivalval at KNUST.

The COESA President and the chairman for the briefing, Dr. Sulemana Iddrisu thanked the delegations from the various zones for their comportment.
“We are thankful for your alliance, and your concerns are well taken”, he stated.
The President added that medical doctors and nurses will be available throughout the games to administer during any complicated medical issues. Expressing that, the welfare of everybody is paramount to the association”
The briefing which was moderated by the COESA National secretary, Mr. Samuel Addae Kyenkyehene came to an end with the various officials and executives assembling in groups to discuss the paths and techniques to ensure fluffy discharge of their duties.
